Links

Linking to a page or article

syntax: title

where title is either the title of a page or news article. If the title is used by both a page and an article, the link will point to the page. This serves as an alternative to using the toolbar ("Insert Link" button) to create links.

example: Release%20Notes produces Release Notes?

You can assign a display name for a page link by preceeding the title with the name of the link followed by an equals (=) sign

example: click here produces click here?

 --------------------------

Linking to an event

syntax: Cannot find Event:

--------------------------

Linking to a Tab

syntax: Cannot find Tab:
Example: Cannot find Tab: produces News

 --------------------------

Linking to a member

syntax: Cannot find User:
example: Cannot find User:

links to the profile for the member “Tom Smith”.

 --------------------------

Linking to a category filter

Syntax: Cannot find Category: category name

The category is scoped to the News or Pages tab. That is, if you use this syntax within the News tab, the link will filter all articles based on the specified category. If used in the Pages tab, the link will filter all pages based on the specified category.

example: Cannot find Category:

produces Product News

Other Options:

Any CamelCase (WikiWord) words will automatically be linked to a page of the same name. If no page exists, a question mark will be appended to the word and the link will lead to the New Page editor. This syntax may be turned off by the manager (Overview>Manage>Advanced Options).

--------------------------

Linking to external resources

You can link by simply entering the URL for a web page. You can also name your link using the following syntax:

link name

Each internal page, article, and event also has its own URL. Using URLs to link to internal pages is not recommended, however. If your domain changes, all URL-based links will break.
