View Pages in Category Layout

Near-Time employs a feature that sorts wiki pages and news items in the Pages tab by Category and Tag.  

To set your personal view to show pages in a category layout:

1. Go to the "Pages" tab
2. Click on "Show Category View".  Pages will appear on the page in boxes, sorted by categories.
3. Look in the right sidebar for the "Categories" section
   
4. Click the checkbox next to a category name:
   • to show the category and associated pages, place a check next to the category
   • to hide the category and associated pages, remove the check next to the category

You can toggle the categories to show or hide at any time and not affect how others view this page. 

Category Box Settings 

Each Category box includes recent pages and news articles. To change the settings of a particular box:

1. Click on the (i) info icon in the top right corner of a Category box
2. A window will pop-up, allowing edits to be made to: 
   • Title (as it appears in the "Category" view)
     
   • Description (as it appears in the "Category" view)
   • show or not show the Latest News articles, Recent Pages (and the number of each to show)
     
   • tags to sort by within the category
3. Edit any of the above items
4. Click Save

Important: The manager of the space sets the view for the public (if some content is public). 

To change the order the category boxes appear on the screen:

1. Put your mouse cursor over the Category box title
2. Click and hold down your mouse on the title bar
   
3. Drag the box to another location on the page and drop it (let go of the mouse) 

Category Box Contents

When a page is created, it can be associated with one or more Categories., allowing a single page to show in one or more boxes. 

To assign a category to a page and have it show in multiple category boxes:

1. drag and drop the page title from one box into another box
2. repeat as needed
   

To remove the category association with a page:

1. Click on the Page title to be removed from a particular category box
2. Click on "Posted in....." directly below the page title.
3. Delete the category name for which the page should no longer be associated 
   
4. Click Save
5. Click on the "Pages" tab.  The page should no longer appear in the category box from which it was removed

Note:  If a page gets deleted at any point, it will no longer appear in any category box. 

View Pages in Default Layout
